Welcome to the NOSA 2009-2010 Premier Season Tryouts!

We are delighted you have chosen to compete for a position on one our competitive teams.

You should know that our whole purpose for being here is to express our dedication, commitment, and passion for the game of soccer through our successful and fun culture, by focusing on long term growth, by providing an exciting soccer environment, and by bringing our high level expertise down to the very personal level for each player, to build and maintain each players self esteem, to develop the individual to their highest potential, to promote an irrational passionate love for the game, and to best build happiness and success on and off the field.

And it all starts here at Tryouts!

We believe each child:

  • Is stretching for their independence (regardless of age or ability)
  • Learns best from feeling comfortable to make mistakes (as sometimes that?s the best way to grow)
  • Is scared at some point in their development and requires as much positive encouragement as they do technical, tactical, and physical training
  • Knows that no one cares or is looking out for their safety, success and happiness more than you
  • Seeks your approval
  • Is very aware of your presence around the field and almost always can hear your voice

We believe each Parent:

  • Wants the very best soccer environment for their child
  • Wants to see their child develop their soccer skills to their highest potential
  • Is ultimately driven to see their child as happy and successful as possible

What can YOU do to best help your child achieve this:

  • Love, encourage, and support when they play well AND poorly - remember mistakes = growth opportunity!
  • Keep it simple, only speak positive words of encouragement.
  • Avoid any form of coaching from sidelines this well intentioned action can greatly undermine your childīs development by contradicting what he might be instructed by his coach. Remember, they hear you, respect you, and greatly seek your approval, so any words of coaching can confuse and distract your child.

To maintain this great culture, we have 3 golden rules for all parents to respect:

  1. Stay off and away from the fields in the designated areas. This allows parents to enjoy watching their children while also providing the necessary space for coaches and players to feel the most comfortable in this try out phase.
  2. We will not allow unruly parents to exhibit negative behavior/language that could affect your childīs experience at our try outs. Therefore we have a Love language policy  all parents can say anything they want as long as they keep it limited to one word  Love. You may also enjoy a lollipop if you think this helps. Of course you can say more words, just keep them all positive. We do love lollipops though.
  3. We will not allow other parents to interfere or influence decisions over your child. One way we achieve this is by having ALL parents avoid discussing matters with the coach during or after evaluation week. Please respect this time period to ensure our highest integrity in the decision making process.

Thank you again for joining us for this exciting soccer experience
