ODP News from July 8-12, 2009 ODP Regional Camp: Vanja Popovic of NOSA's U15 Boys team was selected to participate in the ODP Regional Pool Camp after completing the ODP Regional Camp that was held in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. Seven members of the NOSA U15 Boys team participated in the ODP Regional Camp as members of Louisiana's 1994 Boys Olympic Development Team and three others participated on the 1993 Boys ODP team. Congragulations to Brandon Broders, Eddie Choe, Will Durante, Connor Fagan, Devin Francis, Gary Lawrence, Billy Muneoka, Vanja Popovic, Talmon Smith and Kyle Wilson. Charlie Hancock of NOSA's U16 Boys team participated in the ODP Regional Camp as a member of Louisiana's 1993 ODP Boys team, which is coached by Santo Rivas, NOSA's Director.
May 31, 2009 - LSA Playoffs: The NOSA U15 Boys finished 2nd in State and qualified to participate in the Regional Premier League in 2009-2010!!! After defeating the two-time defending state champions (Mandeville) by a 1-0 score in a hard-fought semifinals game, the NOSA U15 boys lost 0-1 to Baton Rouge in the finals in a very tight match. NOSA U12 Girls Team: For the first time since Hurricane Katrina, NOSA will field a girls team! There is still room for a few more players on NOSA's U12 Girls Team.
